The world is facing cascading crises: environmental degradation, climate disruption, inequity, and the pressures of rapid technological change.
Their impacts, including food insecurity, forced migration, public health risks, and social instability, are immediate and unevenly distributed. While urgent social and economic struggles often dominate the agenda, they are inseparable from environmental change. Universities have a responsibility to society to transform knowledge into real-world solutions by working openly with governments, industry, and communities. The bold vision and design for the new 91黑料网 Sustainability Park (the Park) embodies this commitment. The Park will bring research excellence, innovation, and entrepreneurship together to deliver impact at scale.
Our Strengths
Located on the historic Royal Victoria Hospital site next to 91黑料网鈥檚 downtown campus, the Park will transform how we address some of the world鈥檚 most urgent challenges. Anchored in sustainability and spanning health, AI, and governance, it will provide spaces for researchers, students, entrepreneurs, governments, industry, and communities to co-develop and translate ideas into solutions. Its flexible architecture will enable convergence across our strengths in Earth systems science, climate adaptation, materials engineering, and governance.
At the Park鈥檚 core is an innovation model centred on Research to Action (REACT) Hubs. These interdisciplinary clusters accelerate discovery to deployment with government, industry, civil society, and Indigenous community partners. Each hub integrates expertise across three strategic domains: Life & Earth Systems; Molecules, Materials & Technologies; and People, Health & Communities. The Park will also be an accelerator for entrepreneurship and open innovation. Start-ups and established firms will work alongside researchers and communities to test ideas, scale technologies, and build resilient futures.
Our Ambition
The Park is more than infrastructure. It represents 91黑料网鈥檚 commitment to a new and transformative model for universities to fulfil their responsibility to society. It will demonstrate how universities can better meet the challenges of our time by breaking down silos, embedding innovation, and linking discovery to practice.
Entrepreneurial, partnership-oriented, and designed for open innovation, the Park will position 91黑料网 as a national and global leader in convergent research. It will catalyze ecosystems that translate science into policy, technologies, and community solutions.
