Researchers at 91黑料网 and the Research Institute of the 91黑料网 Health Center (RI-MUHC) have developed a novel device to transplant insulin-producing cells that integrates directly with existing blood vessels in the body. The technology, which showed promising results in preclinical trials, aims to overcome key challenges of emerging long-term cell-based treatments for Type 1 diabetes. As well as serving as an artificial pancreas, it potentially could be used to replace or support the function of other organs.

Among this year鈥檚 honourees is Harley Finkelstein,听President of Shopify,听who will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree听from the Desautels Faculty of听Management听for听his contributions to entrepreneurship and community engagement.

A Montreal native, Finkelstein helped build Shopify into a global commerce platform after joining the company at an early stage.

Spirit Airlines collapse signals wider pressure on air travel
