You can change your course load in during the Add/Drop period with no impact on your transcript. A $20 drop fee applies for each course or section change.
After the Add/Drop period, you must听officially withdraw in Minerva (instructions below). If you miss the final withdrawal deadline, you will receive听a grade of 鈥淛鈥� (incomplete/failure) on your transcript.

*Note: 2- and 1.5-credit courses have different deadlines.
How to Drop/Withdraw in Minerva
You must follow the steps below to drop or withdraw from a course.
- Log in to 听(if you encounter any difficulty,听contact the Minerva Helpline at 514-398-7878 or email them at听itsupport [at] mcgill.ca)
- From the main menu, select Student Menu > Registration Menu
- Select Quick Add or Drop Courses Sections
- Select the term you wish you modify and click听Submit
- Your registered courses will appear under Current Schedule
- From the Action dropdown, select Web Drop (or Web Withdrawn)
- To finalize the course removal, click听Submit Changes
