Salima Visram is the 23-year-old entrepreneur behind the Soular, a backpack company equipped with solar panels, which allow children who don鈥檛 have access to electricity in rural parts of Africa to study at night without having to use an expensive and carcinogenic kerosene lamp. Soular will be launching a new one-for-one model today, through the sale of trendy backpacks on聽HSN聽in collaboration with Disney, alongside their new movie,聽Queen of Katwe, which is set in rural Uganda, where the kerosene lamp is central to the plot of the story.

Ms. Magdesian was frustrated. Then a researcher at 91黑料网鈥檚 Montreal Neurological Institute, she was having trouble with the spinal cord cells she was studying.
The only way to grow them was in a petri dish, but the cells don鈥檛 grow in a dish in the same way they grow in the human body. Instead of growing straight, they get tangled. It made her work harder, slower and more prone to error.

Female engineers are leaving the field because they are not taken seriously, according to a new study.
Co-author of the research, Professor Brian Rubineau said, 鈥淎lthough engineering programs have focused on reforming their curricula to encourage women鈥檚 participation, we are finding that social interactions outside of classrooms are contributing substantially to women鈥檚 negative experiences of the field.鈥�
