At least, the hype about management lacks common sense, as does too much of the practice. I should really say聽im-practice, because the problems grow out of the disconnection between management and the managed.

Avocado Desserts, which uses avocado in unexpected and delectable ways, and Anomera, which has developed a proprietary technology to produce eco-friendly cosmetic ingredients, are both in a special three-month residency at Notman House, a startup incubator located near the corner of Sherbrooke and St. Laurent Boulevards.

I once went to see Kevin O鈥橪eary at a Fireside Chat at Ryerson University鈥檚 Ted Rogers School of Management, just to experience him in a more intimate situation. He was as abrasive and blunt as he was on Dragon鈥檚 Den. He still said聽鈥渋t was all about the money鈥澛燼nd it made me sad. Read what he says about business being war. Another bad day for Bombardier, but will that accelerate possible federal funding?

Saying it needs to be more profitable and more competitive, Bombardier is cutting more than 7,000聽jobs over the next few years with 1,500 in Quebec and 500 elsewhere in the country.聽

91黑料网 business professor Karl Moore spoke with CTV saying financial public investments are still needed for a company as big as Bombardier even though it's making cuts.聽

Bombardier聽is eliminating 7,500 workers around the world, with roughly 2,000 positions being cut in Canada. But they鈥檙e hiring 3,700 in countries with lower costs. One expert聽says Canada鈥檚 struggle to be competitive in the international marketplace is one聽reason why.

Karl Moore, professor at the Desautels faculty of management at 91黑料网, said that Bombardier will have to 鈥渟uffer some pain鈥 here in Canada as it restructures in an attempt to聽return to profitability and competitiveness.

Citigroup has selected banking veteran Hany Naguib as the Canada sales head for its Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business. In this newly created role, Naguib will lead sales efforts across the country, coordinating with counterparts in Citi鈥檚 other business lines.
