Heather Aldersey, PhD, is Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queens University. Heather's research program aims to promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities globally. She works towards achieving this aim by examining support structures for people with disabilities and their families, evaluating the processes and outcomes of implementing community-based rehabilitation programs, and translating findings to inform disability policy and practice. Her scholarship draws upon local strengths and capabilities and seeks to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families globally.
Prof. Aldersey is the聽Scientific Director of the International Centre for the Advancement of Community Based Rehabilitation, she holds a Canada Research Chair in Disability-Inclusive Development, was recently awarded a Dorothy Killam Fellowship and is the Director of a 10-year Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.聽
