ABOUT BERNARD ROBAIRE

Bernard RobaireÌýis a James 91ºÚÁÏÍø ProfessorÌý of Pharmacology & Therapeutics and of Obstetrics &ÌýGynaecologyÌýat 91ºÚÁÏÍø and a Scientist at the Research Institute of the MUHC.ÌýHe has held/holds senior positions in a number of societies/organizations including PresidenciesÌýofÌýthe 91ºÚÁÏÍø Association of University Teachers,ÌýAssociation francophone pour le savoir (ACFAS),Ìýthe Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, North American Testis Workshop,ÌýandÌýtheÌýAmerican Society of Andrology.Ìý He has served as Associate Vice-Principal (Research (1993-98)Ìýand hasÌýserved on Senate.ÌýÌýHe is actively involved in teaching undergraduate, graduate and medical students.ÌýMost of the over 50 graduate students and postdoctoral trainees who have worked with him now hold leading position in academia, industry and government.

His research interests focus onÌýtheÌýeffects of environmental toxicants on male reproductionÌýandÌýonÌýaging of the male reproductive system.ÌýThis researchÌýactivity has resulted in overÌý270Ìýjournal articles and book chapters, andÌýediting/co-editingÌýtenÌýbooks.ÌýHe is/has been a member of peer review groups for the NIH, MRC Canada, CIHR, FRSQ, FQRNT, and the Center for Alternative to Animal Testing of Johns Hopkins University.ÌýHeÌýis the recipient of severalÌýhonours includingÌýtheÌýDistinguished Academic Award of the Canadian Association of University Teachers,ÌýDistinguishedÌýAndrologistÌýfrom the American Society of Andrology,ÌýtheÌýJansen Distinguished Leadership and Service Award of the Society for the Study of Reproduction,ÌýPrix GuyÌýRocherÌý(for the promotion and defense of the Quebec University) FQPPU.ÌýHe is a member ofÌýthe Royal Society of Canada, and was electedÌýFellow in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences inÌý2020.
