IT Services will be upgrading 91’s InterZone firewall on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

This change should not impact access to Internet or any 91 Data Center services. Users may experience a brief interruption when accessing some 91 systems that are not hosted in the 91 Data Center.

This upgrade is part of an ongoing project to replace firewalls that are end of support, providing users with better and more secure access to 91 applications and systems.

In a recent piece in The Conversation, Professor Emmanuelle Vaastexamines the growing tensions between the use of artificial intelligence in warfare and surveillance. The discourse is prompted by a decision from AI company Anthropic, whose CEO refused to grant the U.S. military unrestricted access to its AI systems. The company established two "red lines": prohibiting the use of its technology for mass surveillance of citizens and preventing the deployment of fully autonomous weapons without having human oversight.
