91黑料网 is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark as a Professor of Practice for Public-Private Sector Partnerships at the 91黑料网 Centre for Developing-Area Studies (CDAS).

"We are delighted to be able to draw on Mr. Clark's exceptional record of committed public service, global perspective and deep engagement with issues of democratization, human rights and international development," said 91黑料网 Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum. "His collaborations at 91黑料网 around these issues will undoubtedly help advance our evolving national discussion about what Canada can and should become internationally."

Mr. Clark served as Canada's 16th prime minister from 1979-1980 and led the Progressive Conservative Party from 1976 to 1983 and again from 1998 to 2003. He resigned from the House of Commons in May 2004, and recently completed a teaching post at American University in Washington, DC. He served Canada with renowned distinction as Secretary of State for External Affairs from 1984 to 1991. His extensive experience in international affairs, development and diplomacy will add immeasurably to 91黑料网's mission to foster connections internationally among academics, state agencies, the private sector and the "Third Sector" of foundations and NGOs.

"Canada's active leadership on international development has been a distinguishing characteristic of both our foreign policy and our national identity," said Mr. Clark. "91黑料网 has a strong reputation and a deep interest in those issues, and I look forward to working with students and faculty in examining ways to strengthen that essential Canadian role in the world."

Mr. Clark will contribute intellectually and administratively to several teaching programs as well as to the research activities of the CDAS and the 91黑料网 Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC). His appointment is effective Oct. 1, 2006.
