Whether you’re an incoming student or you’ve been at 91ºÚÁÏÍø for a while, peer mentors can help you navigate life at Schulich.
Mentors can provide a fellow student’s opinion on courses, clubs, and important resources that you might not already know. They receive training in active listening and referral, which means they can help you connect with the support you need when you need it. They’re also there to talk about things like gigging, working, studying, practicing, making friends, exploring Montreal…
- To sign up, see the application information above. We’ll match you with one of our student mentors at the end of the Fall term. Once you’ve been paired, you’ll meet with your mentor at least once a month in the winter. There will also be opportunities to meet and socialize with other mentors and mentees!

Hi! I’m Emmet and I’m a double bassist, composer, and educator. I primarily play jazz (Black American Music) and I plan on going into music education after I finish my performance degree, as I have a passion for teaching music! As an openly queer and trans person, I have experienced feeling like I don’t belong in certain musical spaces, and have made it my goal to try to help everyone feel welcome and seen as their authentic self, no matter who they are. I have also experienced being a confused and scared first year trying to figure out my course schedule, how to stop locking myself out of my residence dorm, and how to bring my double bass on the metro in the snow. No question is a stupid question - I am here to help!
I also love to crochet, watch Star Wars, and dream about one day seeing an Atlantic Puffin in the wild.

Hello! My name is Giuliana, and I am a classical voice student in my second year at Schulich.
I was born and raised in Montreal, and absolutely adore my city. I look forward to sharing what the living experience here is like with incoming students :)
As a peer-mentor, I hope to help students connect to the many specialized services that Schulich offers, and to clubs that align with their interests.
