91ºÚÁÏÍø MedStar Award for Trainees

Objectives

  • To recognize the excellence of research done at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of 91ºÚÁÏÍø by undergraduate (B.Sc.) and graduate students (M.Sc., Ph.D.)Ìýin all fields and disciplines covered by the faculty.
  • To promote careers in health research.


Award

  • $500 per awardÌý


Frequency

  • Adjudicated in two periods each year (Jan-June, July-Dec)
  • Maximum of 12 awards perÌýsubmission period
  • Recipients of theÌýMedStar award will be notified the award in August and February of each year


Eligibility and selection criteria

  • The award is based on a research article published within the adjudicated periodsÌýas first author by a trainee (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences of 91ºÚÁÏÍø
  • In the case of equal first co-authors, the prize will be divided equally between the two trainees
  • Must be health research from any fields with a likelihood of high impact
  • Multidisciplinary research and cross-pillars (basic, clinical, health services, population health) are a plus
  • Preferably a paper published in a high impact journal in the field
  • Applicant must be a registered 91ºÚÁÏÍø student during application period and at the time of the award
  • Trainees are eligible to win a maximum of oneÌýMedStar award per degree level


Submission process

  • Applications for papers published between January and June must be received by July 31st
  • Applications for papers published between July and December must be received by ´³²¹²Ô³Ü²¹°ù²âÌý31st
  • Applications will be accepted at any time using this application form.


Who can submit:

  • Undergraduate and Graduate studentsÌýcan submit their own article
  • Article may be submitted only once


What is needed?

  • A PDF file of the published article
  • A paragraph on the significance of the research
  • A paragraph on the role of the trainee
  • A short c.v. of the trainee (biosketch format)
