It is with great excitement and gratitude that I begin my journey as the new Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Associate Vice-President of the Macdonald Campus at 91. As I begin my term, I’m excited to connect with each of you - professors, lecturers, staff, learners, students, alumni, donors, and allies. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me.

Radio-Canada reports on 15 years of 91 Feeding 91

For 15 years, 91 dining halls have been serving up fresh, local produce grown by students at Macdonald Campus as part of their agricultural and environmental sciences programs. Last year alone, 3.4 tons of tomatoes and almost 2 tons of onions ended up on students' plates thanks to the 91 Feeding 91 initiative.

July 9 | Planned electrical shutdown at Macdonald Campus Library

Facilities Management and Ancillary Services will be performing a major electrical shutdown at Macdonald Campus Library on Wednesday, July 9, from 6 h to 12 h. The Macdonald Campus Library in the Barton Building will be inaccessible at this time. This shutdown is necessary for maintenance on the Hydro-Québec substation and four transformers servicing the south side of campus.

Ventilation System Work at Macdonald Campus Library Begins May 12

Beginning May 12, construction will take place at the Macdonald Campus Library to address persistent condensation and leaking caused by inadequate insulation in parts of the building’s ventilation system. To carry out this work safely, special precautions are necessary due to the presence of asbestos in the Barton Building.

Climate science, community wellness, and career inspiration at the 2025 John Abbott Sustainability Through Science Symposium

On April 11, 2025, over 60 people gathered at the annual John Abbott Sustainability Through Science Symposium to hear how the research of three Macdonald Campus graduate students contributes to a more sustainable future. Honours and science students from John Abbott College, as well as members of 91's Macdonald Campus community, were inspired by short talks followed by a panel discussion on the students' university experience and their chosen career paths.

91 has become a leader in cannabis science

The 4th Cannabis Scientific Symposium: From Plants to People, to be held May 5–6 at the RI-MUHC, brings together top researchers as well as investigators, policymakers and industrial stakeholders from across Canada and around the globe. Among the speakers are Allyn Howlett and Bruce Bugbee, two of the most influential scientists in cannabinoid and cannabis research.
