Talking through Space: Oral History and Architectural Memory

Dr. Jesse Adams Stein is a design researcher and oral historian whose work focuses on labour, technology and industries in transition. She has written widely on workers鈥� experiences in manufacturing, industrial craft and the creative industries, including two monographs: Industrial Craft in Australia (2021) and Hot Metal (2016). In 2025 she co-edited two collections on labour, skill and climate change, following her 2023 international symposium "All Hands on Deck." A former ARC DECRA Fellow, Dr. Adams Stein is a Senior Lecturer in Design at UTS. She has worked with cultural and collecting institutions across Australia, and led two oral history projects with the National Library of Australia.聽
