The 2026-2027 Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program competition is now open!

Global Affairs Canada offers grants to full-time faculty for short-term teaching and/or research activities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program aims to support Canadian postsecondary institutions that are either developing new collaboration and/or student exchange agreements or strengthening existing agreements with -eligible institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Funding organization: Government of Canada
  • Target audiences: Canadian postsecondary institutions and full-time professors
  • Duration: 3 to 8 weeks
  • Inclusions: airfare, living expenses, health insurance, visa or work permit fees and other eligible expenses

International Funding Sources

ÌýThe Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP) is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Scholarships Program.ÌýÌýThe program enables professors at Canadian post-secondary institutions to pursue short-term research and/or teaching activities in Latin America and the Caribbean as a means of exploring, creating and advancing institutional partnerships in the areas of research, student mobility, joint programming, capacity building, and others.ÌýThe primary objective of the exchange is to create new institutional collaborations and/or to strengthen existing agreements between Canadian and non-Canadian post-secondary institutions eligible under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP).

Please email global.engagement [at] mcgill.ca if you want to apply, so we can send you the form. Global Engagement needs to receive the applications by November 19, 2024. Global Engagement then submit the applications on behalf of the candidates.


ÌýThe Canada-China Scholars Exchange Program provides opportunities to Canadian academics, students and professionals who wish to study and/or do research in subject areas related to China at participating Chinese institutions.

91ºÚÁÏÍø-Glasgow Travel AwardÌýThe historical links between 91ºÚÁÏÍø and the University of Glasgow go back to 1756, when 91ºÚÁÏÍø founder, James 91ºÚÁÏÍø, was a student at the University of Glasgow. Over the years, the connections between the universities have been strengthened through a shared commitment to the internationalization of education, expressed through a host of research collaborations and student exchanges. In recognition of this historic partnership, and the Glasgow Honorary Doctorate given to 91ºÚÁÏÍø Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Suzanne Fortier, in 2015, 91ºÚÁÏÍø will support the short-term mobility of PhD students and postdocs in any discipline seeking to initiate or strengthen research ties with the University of Glasgow.
