91ºÚÁÏÍø Campus in Summer

Incorporate French into your university journey!

Join a dynamic learning community in the heart of Montreal and unlock new opportunities through French!

Every journey begins with a placement test to tailor your training to your level.

Once you've taken the placement test to determine your level, there are three paths to choose from according to your interests and situation at 91ºÚÁÏÍø:

  • French for general communication: Daytime for-credit courses for those interested in communicating effectively in everyday situations.*
  • French for health and psychosocial services: Evening for-credit and non-credit courses for those enrolled in a health-related programÌýand who wish to gainÌýthe confidence needed to work in French in the health and psychosocial services sector in Quebec.
  • French for professional communication: Evening and Saturday for-credit courses for those interested in gaining the confidence to work in French in the Quebec professional context.*

Please note that, due to the structure of the French for general communication (FRSL) and French for Professional Communication (FRPC) courses, it is not possible to enroll in both an FRSL course and an FRPC course. Students must choose between these two paths and remain in the path initially selected throughout their program.

Courses corresponding to your level and selected path

In the French for general communication and French for professional communication programs,Ìýoptional courses are offered at certain levels to supplement the required courses.

Depending on your confidence level in your speaking and writing skills, you can choose to take one or more of these consolidation courses to strengthen specific language skills before moving on to the required courses. The optional consolidation courses support your learning but do not replace the courses required to pass a level.

You must pass at least one required course at a given level to move on to the next level.
