Optimization and Impact: Advancing Research, Teaching and Leadership in Family Medicine

The Department of Family Medicine’s Retreat is an annual event that brings together faculty members, researchers and clinicians to connect, collaborate and reflect on the future of family medicine. The retreat features keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops and team-building activities that promote innovation in our discipline. This year's theme is titledÌýOptimization and Impact: Advancing Research, Teaching and Leadership in Family Medicine.

Please note that the Distributed Medical Education (DME) team are also organizing a retreat this year, one week after the main Department retreat. The team will highlight the unique value of rural teaching, followed by two engaging sessions to strengthen your teaching skills. We are delighted to offer a rich and engaging program, highlighted by a plenary from Dr. Tara Kiran titled Reimagining Primary Care in Canada.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of interactive workshops exploring topics such as AI in teaching, supporting learners in difficulty, patient-oriented research, accountability and medico-legal practice (CMPA), and addressing misinformation in healthcare.
