Prinicipal Investigator: Dr. Norbert Schmitz

is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at 91ºÚÁÏÍø, and also an Associate Member in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is also a Chercheur Boursier Senior of the FRSQ. He was trained as a biostatistician and epidemiologist in Germany. His research areas are in epidemiology, mental health, diabetes, and psychiatric-somatic co-morbidity.

Dr. Irene Strychar

is a Professor of Nutrition at the UniversitéÌýde Montréal and a researcher at the Centre du recherche du Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). She is also head of the Behavioural Research Unit at the Montreal Diabetes Research Center. Her research interestsÌýfocus on nutrition and lifestyle behaviours in diabetes, and psychosocial factors in obesity.

Dr. JianLi Wang

is an Associate Professor of the Departments of Psychiatry and of Community Health operating population-based mental health studies. His research areas are psychiatric epidemiology and mental health service utilization.

Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret

is a Professor of Nutrition at the Université de Montréal and researcher at the Institut de recherche Clinique de Montréal (IRCM). He holds the J-A DeSève chair in clinical research. His research interests focus on obesity and diabetes.

Dr. Ashok Malla

is a Professor of Psychiatry and an associate member of the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at 91ºÚÁÏÍø where he holds a tier I Canada Research Chair in Early Psychosis. His research interests include quality of life, role of stress and social predictors of psychosis.

Dr. Alain Lesage

is Professor of the Department of Psychiatry at the University de Montréal and Associate Scientific Director, Fernand-Seguin Research Centre, L-H Lafontaine Hospital. His research areas are in psychiatric epidemiology and mental health assessment.

Dr. Anthony Karelis

is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Kinesiology at the Université du Québec à Montréal and holds a Junior 1 "chercheur-boursier" from the FRSQ. His research interests are in diabetes, obesity and their associated metabolic disturbances.

Dr. Kaberi Dasgupta

Dr. Dasgupta is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at 91ºÚÁÏÍø and a CIHR new investigator. Her research interests include interventions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in people who have and who are at risk for type 2 diabetes.

Drs. Schmitz, Strychar and Rabasa-Lhoret are members of the Montreal Diabetes Research Centre.
