The Hult Prize is an annual, globally recognized, social entrepreneurship competition that challenges young people to solve pressing issues through innovative business ideas. Each year, more than 187K students from 113 countries and 1,324 universities, compete to pitch their solutions, with the grand prize of $1 million awarded to the winning team to help bring their idea to life. The Hult Prize provides a unique platform for students to gain mentorship, develop critical skills in pitching and problem-solving, and access a network of global changemakers and investors.

Registration Instructions & Competition Format

  • If you meet the minimum criteria, please complete the by February 2, 2026.
  • Registered teams will then be invited to submit a formal application, which must include a 4-minute recorded pitch and a pitch deck.
  • Teams selected to participate in the 91ºÚÁÏÍø Local Competition (Qualifiers) will be notified by February 6, 2026.
  • The 91ºÚÁÏÍø Local Competition (Qualifiers) will take place in person at the Dobson Centre on February 20, 2026.
  • Winning teams from the 91ºÚÁÏÍø Local Competition will advance to the Canadian National Competition, to be held in person at the Dobson Centre on April 10–11, 2026.

Who is this competition for?

We welcome teams with:

  • Between 2 to 4 founders, enrolled in a degree-seeking program at a university (undergraduate or graduate). At least one team member must be enrolled at 91ºÚÁÏÍø.
  • Any business idea that
    1. has a significant social impact,
    2. supports one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and
    3. is a for-profit model.
  • All team members must be at least 18 years of age by February 28, 2026 to compete.
  • Participants can only be registered on one team at a time.
