D2R's mission includes knowledge mobilization, knowledge translation, training, and community building. Through the D2R Sponsorship Program, D2R supports activities that facilitate knowledge exchange, foster collaboration, enhance training opportunities, promote the translation and dissemination of research findings, and strengthen engagement within the genomic medicine and RNA-based therapeutics ecosystem.

Funding through this program is limited. D2R will consider requests to support events, seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, and other activities that are aligned with D2R's mission and strategic priorities. Requests may be submitted by academic institutions, research organizations, professional societies, community organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and other organizations, as appropriate. The program does not provide funding for individual travel, conference attendance, or research activities.

Eligible Requests

Examples of eligible requests may include support for:

• National and international activities that enhance D2R's global visibility and impact
• Scientific seminars, invited speakers, workshops, symposia, and conferences;
• Trainee-focused activities (Research Days and Trainee organized conferences);
• Knowledge mobilization, and knowledge translation activities;

Submission and Review Process

• Download the Application Form聽and complete the Application and Budget tabs.
• Submit it to D2R [at] mcgill.ca along with:
  • The event agenda or program.
  • The event sponsorship package, if one exists.
  • Any other supporting documents you consider relevant.

Applicants should submit requests as early as possible and ideally four (4) weeks before the proposed activity.

Requests will be reviewed by a small Sponsorship Review committee established by the D2R Administrative Office based on the review criteria below:

• Relevance to D2R's mission and strategic priorities;
• Anticipated impact on scientific exchange, training, interdisciplinarity, knowledge mobilization, or partnership development;
• The potential to enhance D2R's visibility and reputation.

Award Decision

Award decisions, including the level of sponsorship provided, will be based on the review criteria above, the nature and scope of the proposed activity, and budget availability. D2R sponsorship awards typically do not exceed $5,000.

Acknowledgement and Reporting Expectations

Sponsored activities are expected to acknowledge D2R support in event materials and communications, including programs, websites, presentations, and promotional materials, as appropriate.

D2R may request a brief report of the sponsored activity, including attendance, key outputs, and acknowledgement of D2R support.
