The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences celebrates the outstanding contributions of its administrative support staff and recognizes their achievements with the Faculty’s Couldn't-have-made-it-without-you Award.

A monetary prize will be awarded to two staff members: one clinical staff member, and one administrative staff member.ÌýEligible employees will be selected based on performance beyond the call of duty, leadership, initiative and extraordinary dedication to their teams and clients.
How do I nominate someone or myself?
Submit your nomination(s) by completing the form atÌý. Please try to be as detailed as possible when including your rationale for the nomination, providing specific examples according to the award criteria.
The deadline for submissions isÌýOctober 31, 2025.
Who is eligible for nomination?
All regularÌýclinical, managerial, and administrative staff members (MUNACA and MPEX) who have been employed with the Faculty for at least one full year are eligible to be nominated by their peers, supervisors, or themselves.ÌýPrevious award recipients will not be eligible for re-nomination for a period of five (5) years.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award
As part of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences strategic plan, the Dean’s Office has established the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Leadership Award to recognize EDI initiatives within the Faculty and in its affiliated hospitals.

A maximum of two (2) faculty or staff members will be selected as the recipients by the members of the Faculty Executive Committee with voting rights, during the fall Faculty Executive Committee meeting. Each recipient will receive a monetary award of $500. If the Executive Committee cannot identify suitable awardees in a given year, the award will not be handed out.
Eligibility criteria:

individuals who have demonstrated outstanding EDI leadership through activities at the Faculty and the affiliated hospitals during the preceding academic year (September 1 – August 31);

individuals who have not received the EDI Leadership Award in the previous five (5) years.
The Dr. Howard S. Katz Excellence in Teaching Award
This award recognizes superior teaching, pedagogical innovation and leadership at the undergraduate level of dental education. The following criteria will contribute to the evaluation: excellent student evaluations, evidence of pedagogical innovation, and recognition of leadership in dental education.
