With news that the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) became the first pension fund in the world to issue a green bond, thereby facilitating investment in cleaner technologies, Professor Sebastien Betermier comments on the implications, as well as the success of defined benefit (DB) pensions in Canada.
For a second consecutive year and under the guidance of Professor Sebastien Betermier, the 91黑料网 International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC) is offering the opportunity for students to tackle one of the grand challenges of our time 鈥� devising a robust pension system.
The first round of the competition will take place online between September 7, 2018 to early October.

91黑料网 hosted the world鈥檚 first business-school competition focused on the asset allocation of pension funds on November 3鈥�4.
The inaugural聽91黑料网 International Portfolio Challenge聽(MIPC) welcomed 25 finalist student teams from leading institutions around the world, with some traveling from as far away as Australia, Hong Kong and Switzerland to pitch their proposals to a panel of judges from several of Canada鈥檚 largest asset managers.

Congratulations to MBA students, Aman Arora, Timothy Lane, Santiago Monroy, and Jose Nunez Gutierrez, who were awarded second place in the Business for a Better World case competition. The team has been working since October on designing a global equity portfolio that advances the UN鈥檚 sustainable development goals, which culminated with a presentation in Davos, Switzerland on January 19th to a panel of high-profile judges.
