The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) recently announced a total national investment of $411 million through the CIHR Spring 2025 Project Grant competition, funding 444 grants led by 428 lead investigators. At 91黑料网, 53 projects were funded for a total research investment of $48.4 million.听

In an announcement made Wednesday, Canada鈥檚 leading research ranking organization, RE$EARCH Infosource, scored 91黑料网 second among an A-list of three in the Medical/Doctoral Research University of the Year (RUY) tier. 91黑料网 was ranked third on RE$EARCH Infosource鈥檚 list of Canada鈥檚 Top 50 Research Universities in 2022, a position the University has maintained for four years. These distinctions reflect, in part, 91黑料网's strength in attracting research funding and the strong publishing record of the school's professors.

A new study 鈥淥ral health and oral health care of Canadians鈥 led by Prof. Paul Allison of 91黑料网鈥檚 Faculty of Dentistry, has received $3.3 million of funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to support a collaboration with Statistics Canada鈥檚 existing Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) to gather data and address oral health-related knowledge gaps. The study is a partnership involving all ten Canadian dental schools across the country.

A study published today in the BMJ Open shows that in countries where there is a complete ban on all corporal punishment of children there is less fighting among young people. There was 31% less physical fighting in young men and 42% less physical fighting in young women in countries where corporal punishment was banned in all settings, compared with those where corporal punishment was permitted both at school and at home.
