The parties met on May 25 and continued their discussions on workload and shift assignment. Notable progress has been achieved, particularly with respect to the refinement and near completion of job descriptions.

The parties met on May 22 and continued their discussions regarding work and shift assignment. Constructive progress is being made, as both parties remain actively engaged in exchanging proposals and identifying potential avenues toward resolution.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 5. At that time, the Union is expected to table a comprehensive global proposal addressing all outstanding non-monetary issues. The University will, in turn, present its monetary counter-proposal, further to the Union鈥檚 previously submitted offer.
Following the exchange of monetary proposals in March, the parties have continued to meet regularly, including sessions on May 6 and May 11.
Progress has been made, including agreement on the Selection and Appointment article. Constructive discussions have also helped narrow differences on the Leaves article and clarify job descriptions for certain course-related positions. Current discussions are focused primarily on workload and related processes. While progress continues, several key items remain under discussion.
The parties met on May 6 for a further conciliation session.
At that meeting, the union presented a global counterproposal which, regrettably, did not bring the parties closer to a resolution. At the conciliator鈥檚 recommendation, the parties nevertheless agreed to meet again on May 20 to engage in exploratory discussions on a limited number of issues, including monetary matters, with the objective of identifying possible avenues toward resolution.
91黑料网 remains committed to reaching an agreement.
At the April 22 conciliation session, and at the recommendation of the conciliator, the University presented a global offer to the union.
On April 16, 91黑料网 and the Confederation of Faculty Associations of 91黑料网 (COFAM) held a scheduled bargaining session. During this meeting, the University presented five new non鈥憁onetary counter鈥憄roposals addressing sabbatical leaves, tenure鈥憈rack professor regulations, contract academic staff (CAS) regulations, retirement provisions, and a new professional development leave option for CAS members.
This matter has been in arbitration for some time. However, the parties agreed to replace the recently scheduled hearing days with negotiation sessions, with the aim of achieving as much convergence as possible before the arbitration phase resumes, during which the arbitrator will be called upon to determine the remaining outstanding items.
There was a negotiating session on April鈥�13, 2026, during which discussions continued in a productive and collaborative manner, with steady progress made on several items. The next meeting is scheduled for May鈥�4, with additional negotiation dates confirmed for May鈥�22 and June鈥�5.
Following a petition filed on February 27, 2026, by the Association of 91黑料网 Professors of Science to certify the bargaining unit comprising 鈥渁ll academic staff working in the Faculty of Science of 91黑料网, except academic staff already covered by a collective agreement,鈥� the Tribunal administratif du Travail, Quebec鈥檚 body responsible for overseeing unionization, issued a decision on April 8, 2026, confirming that these positions are unionized and represented by the Association.
The parties met on March 27 to discuss the non鈥憁onetary proposals.
They will meet again on March 31 to continue the discussions.
Following the request for conciliation, the parties held their first conciliation meeting on March 26. Each side met separately with the conciliator to provide an update on the progress of discussions. Based on the conciliator鈥檚 recommendation, the employer will present a comprehensive response to the union鈥檚 monetary and non鈥憁onetary proposals on April 22, 2026.
The objective is to narrow the outstanding non鈥憁onetary issues and focus on the key priorities for both parties.
AGSEM presented their monetary proposals on March 11, and the University provided responses on March 18 and 25. Additional bargaining sessions are scheduled for April and May.
On February 27, 2026, the Association of 91黑料网 Professors of Science (AMPS) filed the attached petition for the certification of the non-unionized academic staff of the Faculty of Science.
The parties have begun the bargaining process on February 9 and have exchanged their initial proposals.
Discussions are underway, and additional meetings have been scheduled to continue negotiations over the coming weeks.
Since March 2025, the parties have held multiple bargaining sessions to negotiate a first collective agreement. Negotiations are progressing at a regular pace, with both sides engaged and exchanging proposals diligently. To date, the focus has been on non鈥憁onetary topics, and the parties have reached agreement on the majority of the articles.
The union is expected to submit its monetary proposals at an upcoming meeting.
Future bargaining dates have already been scheduled for March and April as the parties continue their work toward a full agreement.
