Brain Canada support will help accelerate the discovery of new treatments for brain and nervous system disorders

An innovative project led by Dr. Guy Rouleau at The Neuro has received major funding from Brain Canada, one of four platforms that are advancing treatment discovery across a wide range of neurological disorders. In total the four platforms are being supported with a $8,926,500 investment.

The Union and the University met on May 26 and May 27 to continue discussions on non-monetary proposals. During these meetings, the parties reached agreement and signed off on revisions to certain articles, while discussions continued on other non-monetary issues.

Negotiations are scheduled to resume on June 19.

Engle, co-recipient of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Economics, is a leading expert in time series analysis and the creator of autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (ARCH), a method for the statistical modelling of time-varying volatility. His work revolutionized financial econometrics and is widely used in asset pricing and risk management. He is Co-Director of the NYU Stern Volatility Institute and co-founded the Society for Financial Econometrics.
