Open Forum on the Future of 91黑料网 Research

Wednesday, October 26, 2011 10:30to12:00
Bronfman Building 1001 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 1G5, CA

Please note the room change.

91黑料网 is proud of its standing as a world-class research-intensive university. To ensure that our researchers continue to excel as leading thinkers and innovators, the University is reviewing how it can best support their efforts in the increasingly competitive research arena.

As a result, 91黑料网 is developing two documents that will serve as the pillars of our research and educational plans in the coming years. They are the Strategic Research Plan (SRP), led by the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations), and ASAP 2012: Achieving Strategic Academic Priorities, headed by the Office of the Provost.

Now it鈥檚 your turn to make your voice heard! Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations) Rose Goldstein and Professor Anthony C. Masi, Provost, invite faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduates to offer their feedback at an Open Forum on how 91黑料网鈥檚 research enterprise and priorities will evolve over the next five years.

As part of extensive consultation processes for both documents,听Professor Masi and听Dr. Goldstein will be on hand to hear your comments and respond to your questions about the SRP and ASAP 2012. They are also interested in better understanding your own views about the future of research at 91黑料网.

This Open Forum will include discussions on how 91黑料网 can:

  • Focus resources while continuing to support research excellence wherever it is found;
  • Enhance successful interdisciplinary exchange, education, and research;
  • Encourage faculty, staff, and students to engage in greater community outreach in Quebec, across Canada, and around the world.

This Open Forum is just one of a series of SRP and ASAP 2012 events scheduled for fall 2011, and you are strongly encouraged to come out and be a part of the consultation process. The SRP and ASAP 2012 will guide 91黑料网鈥檚 decision making and provide clarity for internal and external stakeholders as the University positions itself to excel in in a changing research and educational landscape.
