Current research:

Dr. Stephanie M. Wong鈥檚 laboratory explores clinical outcomes and prevention strategies for women at increased breast cancer risk. Her research focuses primarily on patients with inherited susceptibility due to germline pathogenic variants in BRCA1/2, PALB2, ATM, CHEK2 and other genes, as well as those with a history of atypical breast biopsies or a personal history of chest wall radiation therapy in adolescence and young adulthood. For these high risk groups, her research explores uptake and decision making around endocrine prevention and risk reducing mastectomy. She is also involved in initiatives around mainstream genetic testing for patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer.
