Overview

The Specialization in Livestock focuses on livestock production as it relates to providing food and other resources to consumers. It exposes students to the key components of livestock management (reproductive physiology, breeding and genomics, nutrition, and welfare) with hands-on farm experience. It also incorporates precision animal agriculture and highlights provincial and national livestock industries in a global context. Graduates from this Specialization are expected to be in high demand with the associated industries.

This Specialization is taken under the Major in Sustainable Agricultural Systems with connections to Field Crops and Horticultures and Global Food Security, and provides an opportunity to take dedicated agronomic content leading to eligibility requirements for the Ordre des agronomes du Québec (OAQ).
