Overview

Students聽in聽the Specialization in Global Food Security聽acquire聽a global and applied understanding of agriculture as a fundamental tool to help rural development, alleviate聽poverty聽and reach food security, especially in a world context. It provides students with a combined understanding聽of global contexts and economically sustainable approaches to provide acceptable nutrition. While gaining knowledge of water resources, sustainable development, nutrition,聽planning聽and development, students can also incorporate aspects of livestock and crop production into their portfolios with access to hands-on practice via internships.聽

This Specialization is taken under the Major in Sustainable Agricultural Systems with connections to聽Field Crops and Horticultures聽and聽Livestock, and聽provides聽an opportunity to take dedicated agronomic content leading eligibility requirements for the聽Ordre des聽agronomes聽du Qu茅bec聽(OAQ).聽
