   Sustainable and green chemistry is a rapidly growing initiative in indus
 try as companies grapple with increased regulatory requirements\, supply c
 onstraints\, and consumer pressure for greener products. This talk will di
 scuss a few sustainability risks in the chemical enterprise and provide a 
 few examples of companies who are innovating towards more sustainable busi

 CERECOThere is little disagreement that sustainable innovation is the righ
 t approach for companies\, for researchers\, and for society. The real cha
 llenge lies in how to make sustainable innovation happen at a faster pace.
  For sustainable innovation to be successful\, entrepreneurs and intrapren
 eurs need an interdisciplinary range of skills and capabilities ranging fr
 om technical & scientific knowledge to life cycle analysis to financial sa
 vvy. It will always require persistence\, creativity\, and openness to lea
 rning new things. And it is completely worth it. Successful sustainable in
 novations impact lives. There are ways to understand the value of opportun
 ities and to increase the likelihood of success. This lecture focuses on p
 erceptions about sustainable innovation\, success stories\, and some tools
  and approaches to increase your chances of success in sustainable innovat
 ion.
