Mathematics & Statistics (Sci) : Representations of finite groups. Maschke's theorem. Schur's lemma. Characters, their orthogonality, and character tables. Field extensions. Finite and cyclotomic fields. Galois extensions and Galois groups. The fundamental theorem of Galois theory. Solvability by radicals.
