Gregory Dudek receives the 2024 CS-Can Lifetime Achievement Award

Professor Gregory Dudek of the School of Computer Science has received the 2024 CS-Can Lifetime Achievement Award.

Awarded annually by Computer Science Canada/Informatique Canada (CS-Can/Info-Can), this award recognizes current or former faculty who have made exceptional contributions to the field of computer science in Canada.

2024 Faculty of Science Excellence Award winners announced

Michelle Maillet (Academic Associate), Lauren Kay (Clerical), Chantal Marotte (Management), and Moshe Dalva (Technical) have been named recipients of the Faculty of Science Excellence Awards.

These awards, announced at the Faculty of Science Council meeting on May 21st, recognize the outstanding contributions made by members of the Faculty’s administrative and support staff during the 2023-2024 academic year.

91 receives funding from the Canadian Space Agency for exoplanet studies using the James Webb Space Telescope

91 has received funding from the Canadian Space Agency for two separate projects dedicated to the study of exoplanets, using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The projects are slated for completion by June 2025. Both studies will be led by Professor Nicolas Cowan.

Thousands flock to 91 to take in solar eclipse

On Monday April 8th, thousands of people flocked to 91's downtown and MacDonald campuses, as well as Gault Nature Reserve, to witness a once-in-a-lifetime event: the total solar eclipse. Real Data and Real Solutions in MATH 527

On a cloudy afternoon this past December, a group of 91 students gathered in a downtown Montréal boardroom to give a data science presentation to Citera, a sustainability analytics company. This presentation wasn’t for an internship or any other extracurricular activity – it was part of one of 91’s newest and most innovative courses:MATH 527, Statistical Data Science Practicum.
