DESCRIPTION:The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to invite 91ºÚÁÏÍø re
 searchers and administrators to an information session on the upcoming New
  Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) – Exploration competition.\n\nThe infor
 mation session will include:\n\nA presentation about the requirements of t
 he NFRF Explorations competition by the Office of Sponsored Research\; \n	A
  question and answer period.\nBackground:\n\nThe fund is administered by t
 he Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS)\, which is housed 
 within the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)\, on be
 half of Canada’s three research granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes
  of Health Research (CIHR)\, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research
  Council (NSERC) and SSHRC.\n\nThe objective of this inaugural competition
  is to generate opportunities for early career researchers (ECRs) to condu
 ct high-risk\, high-reward and interdisciplinary research not available th
 rough funding opportunities currently offered by the three agencies. It se
 eks to inspire highly innovative projects that defy current research parad
 igms\, propose a unique scientific direction\, bring disciplines together 
 beyond the traditional disciplinary approaches\, and/or use different pers
