This session would also benefit faculty members as these programs can l ead to new connections with Canadian companies (for-profit\, not-for-profi t and non-governmental organizations)\, increased funding and unique train ing opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows through a pplied\, industrial research projects. Mitacs also supports 2-way mobility of students between Canada and the international community\n\n91ŗŚĮĻĶų will host Jean-Philippe Valois\, Mitacs Business Development Director\, who wi ll present various programs and provide helpful tips on how to mix and mat ch these programs. He will also provide details on projects that have succ essfully used these programs to the advantage of graduate students\, postd octoral fellows and researchers.\n\nĀ \n\nDiscussion will center on the fol lowing programs:\n\nĀ \n\nMitacs Accelerate and ElevateĀ \n\nThrough the Mit acs-Accelerate and Mitacs-Elevate programs\, graduate students and postdoc toral fellows apply their specialized expertise to business-related resear ch challenges. Interns (graduate students or postdoctoral fellows) bring n ew perspectives to the problems faced by the industry partners by spending approximately half their time on site with the partner organization\, int eracting with staff and furthering their understanding of the challenge. T he remainder of the intern’s time is spent at their university\, where the y develop new tools\, techniques\, methodologies\, and/or solutions to the partner organization’s research challenge with the support of their acade mic supervisor. This program is open to all disciplines and all industrial sectors\, and projects can span a wide range of areas\, including manufac turing\, technical innovation\, business processes\, IT\, social sciences\ , design\, and more.\n\nĀ \n\nMitacs Globalink\n\nThrough the Mitacs-Global inkĀ program\, senior undergraduate and graduate students are provided fund ing to facilitate two-way mobility to partner countries to do research wit h a host university.
