 RC Insight Development Grants competition.\n\nThe information session will

 he Insight Development Grants (IDG) by the Office of Sponsored Research\;
 \n\n路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Presentation from Prof. David Wachsmuth (School of Urban Plann
 ing)\, who will share his experience as a successful awardee.\n\n路聽聽聽聽聽聽 P
 resentation from Prof. Narendra Subramanian (Department of Political Scien
 ce)\,who will share his insights and experiences as a peer reviewer and su
 ccessful awardee.\n\n路聽聽聽聽聽聽 A question and answer period.聽\n\n聽\n\nPlease
  RSVP online聽by Friday\, November 4th\, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. \n\n聽\n\nBackgro
 und:\n\nInsight Development Grants support research in its initial stages 
 for up to two years (with an automatic extension period for one year) for 
 emerging and established scholars in the social sciences and humanities. T
 he grants enable the development of new research questions\, as well as ex
 perimentation with new methods\, theoretical approaches and/or ideas. The 
 maximum value of an Insight Development Grant is $75\,000. For the current
  competition\, at least 50% of funds will be reserved for applications fro
 m emerging scholars.\n\n聽\n\nResearchers may not apply\,聽as applicant\, fo
 r an Insight Development Grant and an Insight Grant within the same calend
 ar year\, whether successful in the competition or not. However\, a resear
 cher who applied for an Insight Grant in October 2016 may apply for an Ins
 ight Development Grant in February 2017\, provided that the objectives of 
 the research are different.\n\n聽\n\nPlease note that the application form 
 for the current competition is not yet available\, but will be posted on t
 he SSHRC website shortly.\n
