DESCRIPTION:Dear CIHR community members\,\n\nAs you may be aware from the d
 ifferent announcements released by CIHR last week\, the fall competitions 
 for both the Foundation Scheme and the Project Scheme have yet to be launc
 hed.\n\nFollowing the announcement by the Minister of Health\, Jane Philpo
 tt\,  CIHR has organized an urgent working meeting with key representative
 s of the research community to discuss solutions to the issues raised abou
 t the reformed open programs and particularly about the quality and integr
 ity of the new on-line peer review system.  Additional details about this 
 working meeting to be held tomorrow July 13th can be found here. It remain
 s unknown at this time if and when any changes to the reformed Open Progra
 ms will be implemented but we expect that both the Foundation Scheme and P
 roject Scheme competitions will be launched shortly. \n\nDespite the uncer
 tainty at this time\, the Office of Sponsored Research plans on giving an 
 information session for both the Project Scheme Competition as described b
