DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the SSHRC Insight Grant Program is to provide su
 pport for long-term research initiatives of 3 to 5 years for emerging and 
 established scholars in the social sciences and humanities.\n\nResearchers
  in social sciences and humanities\, arts and literature who are planning 
 to apply to the upcoming SSHRC Insight Grant fall 2016 competition are enc
 ouraged to attend this information session\, which will include\n\nA brief
  presentation about the objectives and application requirements of the SSH
 RC Insight Grant Program by Joanna Mastalerek\, Grants Officer\, Social Sc
 iences and Humanities\;\n	presentations from Prof. Markus Poschke (Departme
 nt of Economics) and Prof. Gordon Bloom (Department of Kinesiology & Physi
 cal Education) who served as Insight Grant selection committee members in 
 the last competition and will provide potential applicants with informatio
 n about the peer-review system and strategies for preparing a successful p
 roposal\;\n	 a question and answer period where participants will be encour
 aged to raise any questions they may have about the program or the applica
 tion process. \nThose who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfort
 able sharing their questions are invited to send their inquiries to mauree
