 il (NSERC) Group Chair (EG 1507 – Computer Science)\, Dr. Doina Precup and
  OSR Grants Officer\, Agnes Wong\, will be holding a 1-hour Information Se
 ssion to provide an update on what is new at NSERC\, the latest competitio
 n results from the 2015 Discovery Grants Program\, as well as an overview 
 of the Discovery Grant process including tips on “Writing a Successful Dis
 covery Grant”.  Questions and answers will be welcome throughout. You are 
 encouraged to attend this outreach session if you are planning to apply to

 				promoting and maintaining a diversified base of high-quality research capa
 bility in the natural sciences and engineering in Canadian universities\;
 \n					fostering research excellence\; and\n					providing a stimulating environment
  for research training.\n				The Discovery Grants Program supports ongoing pro
 grams of research (with long-term goals) rather than a single short-term p
 roject or collection of projects. These grants recognize the creativity an
 d innovation that are at the heart of all research advances\, whether made
  individually or in teams. Researchers are free to work in the mode most a
 ppropriate for the research area.\n				Recipients of Discovery Grants are not 
 restricted to the specific activities described in the application\, but m
 ay pursue new research interests\, provided they are within NSERC’s mandat
