The presentation will include historical and statistical information\, explanations on eligibility and application requirements\, t ips on how to improve one's application and information on the electronic filing process. The presentation will be followed by a general question pe riod. Individuals will be available to meet with the representative after the presentation to discuss their individual cases.\nResearchers who antic ipate submitting an application to the 2014 Killam Research Fellowship com petition are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting as are potential n ominators and/or nominees for the 2014 Killam Prize.\nKILLAM RESEARCH FELL OWSHIPS are offered on a competitive basis to support distinguished Canadi an researchers\, normally full professors in Canadian universities\, in an y of the following broad fields: humanities\, social sciences\, natural sc iences\, health sciences\, engineering and studies linking any of the disc iplines within these broad fields. Canadian citizens or permanent resident s of Canada may hold the Fellowships. The Fellowships provide two years of full release from teaching and administrative duties. The fellowship fund s are paid to the university or research institute that employs the fellow to relieve him or her of all teaching and administrative responsibilities while continuing to pay the fellow’s full salary and benefits during the entire period of the fellowship.\nKILLAM PRIZES: Up to five prizes of $100 \,000 each are given annually to eminent Canadian scholars in recognition of distinguished career achievement in the natural sciences\, health scien ces\, engineering\, social sciences and humanities respectively.
