Experiments have shown GTPa se dynamics to be affected by both chemical and mechanical cues\, but also to be spatially and temporally heterogeneous. While progress on understan ding GTPase dynamics in single cells has been made\, a major remaining cha llenge is to understand the role of GTPase heterogeneity in collective cel l migration. Motivated by recent one-dimensional experiments (e.g. micro-c hannels) we introduce a one-dimensional modelling framework allowing us to integrate cell bio-mechanics\, changes in cell size\, and detailed intra- cellular signalling circuits (reaction-diffusion equations).\n\nUsing this framework\, we build cell migration models of both loose (mesenchymal) an d cohering (epithelial) tissues. We use numerical simulations\, and analys is tools\, such as bifurcation and local perturbation analysis\, to provid e insights into the regulatory mechanisms coordinating collective cell mig ration. We show how feedback from mechanical tension to GTPase activation lead to a variety of dynamics\, including collective and individual cell m igration phenotypes.\n DTSTART:20240116T170000Z DTEND:20240116T180000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Andreas Buttenschoen URL:/qls/channels/event/qls-seminar-series-andreas-but tenschoen-353915 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
