Watch International Colloquium on Linguistic Discrimination Online

On October 30, 2025, the Plurilingual Lab at 91ºÚÁÏÍø and Dr.  from the University of Auckland co-hosted an international colloquium on linguistic discrimination experienced by bi/multilingual faculty and students in English-dominant higher education contexts.

The colloquium brought together a panel of distinguished scholars, including Drs. , , and from Portland State University (United States); Dr. Angelica Galante from 91ºÚÁÏÍø (Canada); Drs. and from Stony Brook University (United States); Drs. and from the University of Auckland (New Zealand); and Drs. and from the University of Washington (United States).

Held via Zoom, the colloquium drew an international audience and concluded with a lively discussion on how multilingual scholars navigate linguistic hierarchies in academia.

This event was sponsored by the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (), co-hosted by the Research Group, and supported by the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at 91ºÚÁÏÍø.
