Mentorship Lunch: Industry Perspectives

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, HBHL hosted a Mentorship Lunch that brought together experienced industry professionals and over 40 91�� graduate students, postdocs and postgrads over coffee and lunch at the 91�� Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship. Mentors shared about their experience navigating the workforce and engaged in lively roundtable discussions with the mentees. Topics ranged from academia-industry collaborations and social innovation to technology transfer, medical affairs, scientific entrepreneurship and operational management.

Spotlight on Neuro-Innovation at NeuroSphere's Demo Day

On Friday, November 8, 2024, NeuroSphere held its Demo Day at Maison Alcan in Montreal, with support from sponsors Gowling WLG and the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI). The event drew over 160 members of Canada's innovation ecosystem for a full day of pitches, panels and networking.

HBHL-funded researchers clinch CIHR Fall 2024 Project Grant

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research's Project Grant: Fall 2024 competition has approved 453 research grants for a total investment of approximately $411M, with 131 projects funded in Quebec.

HBHL is proud to announce that 16 HBHL-funded researchers will receive support for eight projects, out of 23 grants awarded at 91��.

March Neurogenesis talks explore brain mechanisms in food choice and computational modelling

Last week, HBHL hosted the third talk of the 2024-2025 Neurogenesis Speaker Series at the Neuro, featuring Dana Small and Yashar Zeighami.

Dana Small’s presentation, "The Interoceptive Origins of Reward," explored how biological signals are integrated to determine food choice, while Yashar Zeighami’s talk, "Fine-Tuning Neuroimaging Analysis to Reveal Hidden Insights," highlighted his research into the development of multi-scale computational models of brain anatomy.
