The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology\, co gnitive neuroscience\, and neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will include scientis ts from across The Neuro\, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual fo rum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary ex changes on the mechanisms\, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.\n\n\nRegistration here\n\nStream via Vimeo here\n\n\nYiming Xi ao\, PhD\n\nAssistant Professor\, Department of Computer Science and Softw are Engineering\, Concordia University\, Canada\n\nHost: justine.clery [at ] mcgill.ca (Justine Clery)\n\nAbstract: Approximately 10% of Canadians ar e affected by neurological disorders\, such as Parkinson’s disease (PD)\, stroke\, and brain tumors. These conditions often lead to severe disabilit y and deaths\, adversely impacting the lives of individuals and costing Ca nada billions of dollars per year. Neurosurgery plays a vital role in trea ting brain disorders\, with 0.67 million essential neurosurgical cases in the US and Canada annually. Today\, multi-modal bioimaging technology\, su ch as MRI\, CT\, and optical imaging has become an integral component of t he clinical care. The advancement of latest computational technologies\, s uch as artificial intelligence and augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/V R) can greatly enhance the value of medical images to offer clinicians pot entially more accurate and efficient tools in surgical planning and monito ring. The talk will focus on the development and integration of novel mult i-modal medical imaging\, AI\, and AR/VR tools developed at the Health-X L ab of Concordia University to tackle existing challenges for the surgical care of neurological disorders\, including Parkinson’s disease\, brain tum or\, and cerebrovascular diseases.\n DTSTART:20240226T180000Z DTEND:20240226T190000Z LOCATION:De Grandpre Communications Centre\, Montreal Neurological Institut e\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series: Towards Intelligent and Intu itive Neurosurgical Technology URL:/neuro/channels/event/feindel-brain-and-mind-semin ar-series-towards-intelligent-and-intuitive-neurosurgical-technology-35365 5 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
