DESCRIPTION:Mental health issues will affect one in five Canadians at some 
 point in their life\; chances are there are people around you who need hel
 p. This Mental Health “First Aid” course teaches participants skills neede
 d to help someone who may be developing a mental health problem or is expe
 riencing a mental health crisis. This course does not train you to be a th
 erapist\, counsellor or mental health professional\, but instead teaches y
 ou how to apply the needed “first aid” until professional help is received
  or until the crises is resolved. The course covers the following topics:
 \n\n\n	What is meant by mental health and mental illness problems\n	Signs an
 d symptoms of common mental health problems and crisis situations\n	A basic
  model to provide mental health aid\n	Information about effective intervent
 ions and treatments\n	How to access professional help\n\n\nUpon completion 
 of the course\, participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid Canada
  Certificate. For this reason\, attendance is mandatory for the entire dur

 essionnels appropriés soient reçus\, ou jusqu’à ce que la crise soit termi
 née. La formation abordera les sujets suivants :\n\n\n	Qu’entend-on par san
 té mentale et problèmes liés à la maladie mentale?\n	Les signes et symptôme
 s de problèmes de santé mentales / situations de crise courants\;\n	Un modè
 le de base pour appliquer les premiers soins en santé mentale\;\n	De l’info
 rmation sur les interventions et traitements efficaces\;\n	Comment obtenir 
 de l’aide professionnelle.\n\n\nLorsque le cours sera complété\, les parti
 cipants recevront un certificat de participation. Veuillez noter que pour 
 recevoir un certificat\, il est obligatoire d’être présent pour toute la d
 urée de la formation.\n
