Three Schulich alumni to join the Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Beginning this season, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) welcomes three Schulich School of Music alumni into their esteemed ensemble: Victor Fournelle-Blain (ADip 鈥15) as Principal Violist, R茅mi Pelletier (LMus 鈥04) as Associate Principal Violist, and Yolanda Bruno (BMus 鈥11) as Section Violinist!

Schulich professors inducted into the Royal Society of Canada

Prof. John Rea and Prof. Hank Knox are among the latest inductees into the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), which includes nine 91黑料网 researchers and professors among the total of 93 new Fellows.听Fellows in the RSC's Academies of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science are elected by their peers for outstanding achievements in their fields听鈥 an extremely high honour.听

Lara Deutsch (BMus 鈥12, MMus 鈥14) wins $125,000 M茅c茅nat Musica Prix Goyer 2019-2020

Flutist Lara Deutsch is this year鈥檚 recipient of the $125,000 M茅c茅nat Musica Prix Goyer 2019-20 Award for Collaborative Emerging Artist! Presented biennially in honour of Jean-Pierre Goyer and his contributions to music, arts, and culture in Montreal and the rest of Canada, the M茅c茅nat Musica Prix Goyer is Canada鈥檚 largest classical music prize for emerging young artists.

Schulich students make their mark at the Mathieu Duguay Early Music Competition

Two Schulich Early Music graduates, violinist Marie Nadeau-Tremblay (BMus 鈥14, LMus 鈥17, MMus '19) and trumpeter Duncan Campbell (BMus 鈥14, GDip 鈥17, LMus 鈥19) were recently awarded first and second prize听respectively at the Mathieu Duguay Early Music Competition of the International Lam猫que Baroque Music Festival.

Eleanor Stubley Recording Prize 2018-2019

The winner of this year鈥檚 Eleanor Stubley Recording Prize is soprano Elodie Bouchard (MMus 鈥19), who will collaborate with recording engineer Ephraim Hahn (MMus '19) and lutenist Anthony Harvey on the project 鈥17th century music for lute and voice鈥.

Saxophonist Jacob Do wins first Oliver Jones Award from the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal

Congratulations to saxophonist Jacob Do (BMus 2021), who won the Festival International de Jazz de Montr茅al's inaugural Oliver Jones Award on June 26, 2019. Created as part of the Festival's 40th anniversary, the award is given as part of a competition open to selected Quebec university student musicians identifying as part of a visible minority.
