Jayne Engle will be discussing how challenging our deep code assumptions can allow us to redefine civic infrastructure and the policies required t o create equitable\, regenerative cities.\n\nRegister here.\n\nAbout the S peaker\n\nDr. Jayne Engle leads the Cities and Places portfolio at the McC onnell Foundation\, where her team has built an ecosystemic approach to in clusive urban innovation. The portfolio includes Cities for People\, Parti cipatory Canada\, Civic-Indigenous 7.0\, RegX\, and Community Wealth / Civ ic Capital\, and recently they co-founded the Emergence Room\, an ‘anti-wa r room’ for the new context created by Covid.\n \n Prior to McConnell Jayne worked globally at the intersection of insurgent city planning\, long-rang e policy innovation\, participatory research\, and economic and social cha nge. Her experience ranges from urban regeneration in cities of North Amer ica and Western Europe\, to contexts of deep societal change\, including d irecting an entrepreneurship centre in Slovakia following the fall of comm unism\, and post-disaster community research in Haiti following the catast rophic 2010 earthquake.\n \n Jayne is passionate about bridging transformati ve community action on the ground with policy and systems change\, particu larly in ways that foster freedom and flourishing of people. She is Adjunc t Professor at 91 and holds a PhD in Urban Planning\, Polic y and Design.
