This classification d oes not extend to strong interactions\, in particular to the flurry of pro cesses with natural logarithmic (or multiscale) correlations. These includ e branching random walks or the 2d Gaussian free field. More recently\, Fy odorov\, Hiary and Keating (2012) exhibited new examples of log-correlated phenomena in number theory and random matrix theory. As a result (and as a testing ground of their observations) they have formulated very precise conjectures about maxima of the characteristic polynomial of random matric es\, and the maximum of L-functions on typical interval the critical line. I will describe the recent progress towards these conjectures in both the random and deterministic setting.\n\n LIEU / PLACE\n CRM\, Salle / Room 534 0\, Pavillon André Aisenstadt\n Une réception suivra au salon Maurice-Labbé (salle 6245)\n A reception will follow in the Maurice-Labbé lounge (room 6 245)\n \n ZOOM\n https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84226701306?pwd=UEZ5NVpZaUlldW5qNU 8vZzIvbEJXQT09\n ID: 842 2670 1306 / CODE: 692788\n \n ORGANISATEURS / ORGANI ZERS\n Léo Belzile (Université de Montréal)\n Joel Kamnitzer (91ºÚÁÏÍø Univers ity)\n Giovanni Rosso (Concordia University)\n Alina Stancu (Concordia Unive rsity)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n DTSTART:20230915T193000Z DTEND:20230915T203000Z SUMMARY:Maksym Radziwill (Northwestern) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/maksym-radziwill-northwes tern-350860 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
