  to invite you to a special meeting to discuss ways to teach courses in a 
 'blended learning' way (broadly speaking\, teaching in a physical space bu
 t allowing for online interactions as well).\n	\n	This meeting will happen W
 ednesday next week\, Nov 16\, 11:35am-12:25pm in room BURN 1205 or online 
 through zoom here. Our own Linan Chen will be there to tell us about blend
 ed learning\, and we will discuss what we think of this way of teaching an
 d how it could be done in our courses. Linan can then take this back to th
 e NewMAD working group to be considered when they make recommendations to 
 the administration about blended learning. So it's important we make our v

 c Program Delivery (NewMAD) Work Group is tasked with making recommendatio
 ns on future models for course and program delivery\, based on our experie
 nces in the past two years. After the initial round of consultations with 
 the departments and units on (rather general) NewMAD topics\, the Work Gro
 up has identified specific points for further considerations. Therefore\, 
 we\, Professors Laura Pavelka (NewMAD Work Group Member)\, Tamara Western 
 and Linan Chen (NewMAD Faculty Liaisons)\, are reaching out to the Faculty
  of Science community for a second time. In particular\, the Work Group is
  preparing to recommend including the blended learning models​​ as accepta
 ble modalities for course delivery in the future. In order to carry out th
 is change properly\, we need your feedback and comments on important issue
 s such as 'what is contact hour'​​\, 'what is blended learning​​'\, 'what 
 is the procedure to implement a blended learning course'\, and related que
 stions. You will find all the points for discussions in the attached docum
 ent 'Considerations for Blended Learning' prepared by Laura Pavelka.\n	\n	If
