Its simple version has been successfully applied\, through the work o f Z. Yun and W. Zhang\, to prove substantial part of the GGP conjectures a s well as its refinement proposed by Ichino-Ikeda and N. Harris. Full trac e formula is expected to prove the conjectures completely. In our work wit h P.-H. Chaudouard such a formula has been developed and the analysis of i ts geometric side has been completed. In this talk I will talk about an on going project with P.-H. Chaudouard aiming to study the spectral side of t he Jacquet-Rallis trace formula.
