The initiatives will encourage students and members of the 91 community to participate in discussions\, workshops\, and networking opportunities that will allow them to explore sustainable development in their own futures and careers. \n\nCreated in partnership with the Career Planning Service\, the Engineer ing Career Centre\, and the Soutar Career Centre of Desautels\n\nVirtual K eynote + Q&A\n November 2\, 201\n 9:00 am - 10:00 am\n RSVP through myFuture \n\nTo inaugurate the beginning of the Bicentennial’s Sustainability Caree r Days\, we will welcome 91 Alumna Dr. Chantal Line Carpentier (BScAgr ’90\, MSc’94)\, who currently serves as the Chief for the United Nations C onference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) New York office of the Secreta ry-General. Dr. Carpentier played an important role in the negotiations le ading up to the creation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In her keynote\, she will discuss how the SDGs play an–ever increasing rol e globally\, including within economic sectors\, industries\, and individu al companies and organizations.\n\nSustainability Development Goals Worksh op \n November 2\, 2021\n 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm\n RSVP through myFuture\n\nIn ord er to familiarize students with the tools for success that they need to la unch a career in sustainability\, the student-led 91 SDG Hub will be p artnering with the Bicentennial in order to facilitate a workshop for stud ents as part of the Career Days. Led by Geneva Yang\, this workshop will c over everything from the most important applications of the 17 SDGs for a career in sustainability\, to ways by which students can become involved w ith sustainability initiatives on campus.\n\nPrinciples and Tools Needed t o Succeed in a Sustainable Development Career + Q&A \n November 2\, 2021\n 4 :00 pm - 5:00 pm\n RSVP through myFuture\n\nAs the third and final componen t of the November 2nd Career days offerings\, a panel on incorporating sus tainability within career trajectories will be offered. In the discussion\ , 91 alumni working in sustainability will speak about their insights regarding the tools\, expertise\, and abilities needed to thrive in a sust ainability-related career. 91 students who choose to watch the event i n live time via Zoom will have the opportunity to take part in the discuss ion by asking questions and sharing their own experiences in the subsequen t Question and Answer period.\n\nAlumni Networking Event \n November 3\, 20 21\n 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm\n\nStudent Registration: You will be required to reg ister for the Alumni Networking Event in order to book a 1:1 with an alumn i\, registration opens on October 25.  Register\n\nOn the second day of th e Career Days event\, the 91 community will re-welcome a series of McG ill alumni who have gone on to embark on careers in sustainability back to campus via the virtual fair platform “EventUs”. During the event\, studen ts interested in sustainability will have the chance to interact\, ask que stions with\, and seek advice from alumni working in the field.
