If they are\, what can we do about it? T o help answer this question\, Morgan’s research explores how freely availa ble multi-source satellite data can be combined to map and analyze activel y burning fires. By providing accurate maps of active fire progressions\, Morgan aims to increase our understanding of where\, when\, and how wildfi res burn. The ultimate goal of her research is to aid in wildfire planning and response.\n\nLEARN ABOUT:\n Satellite imaging\, aggregating data sets\ , wildland fire management & how to map a wildfire!\n\nSupported by the Li ster Family Engaged Science Initiative\, the Lister Science Chats connects students currently at home through live science talks with researchers fr om 91ºÚÁÏÍø's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Each chat features a Macdonald Campus graduate student giving an engaging 30-minute English presentation on their research\, followed by a 15-minute question period. Although the targeted levels for these science chats are Secondary 4 & Secondary 5\, anyone with a passion for science is welcome to join.\n \nThe live chat will take place on ZOOM. No advance registration required. To attend the talk\, please visit /osas/cpd/listeren gagedscience. A link will be made available shortly before the live event. You will just need to click on the link to participate.\n\nFor any questi ons or further information\, please contact ingrid.chiraz [at] mcgill.ca ( Ingrid Chiraz).\n DTSTART:20200423T170000Z DTEND:20200423T170000Z LOCATION:ZOOM seminar SUMMARY:Lister Science Live Chats: Tracking Forest Fires from Space URL:/macdonald/channels/event/lister-science-live-chat s-tracking-forest-fires-space-321411 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
